I want to give credit where it's due: my humble co-author, Sir Teddy, made predictions for who would advance from each group in December 2009, which can be found here and here. You'll note he's batting 9 for 10 so far, only missing on Uruguay instead of France, and in fairness, it was a little tough to see 7 months ago the civil unrest surrounding Les Blues. This offsets my poor horse racing picks by a factor of 20. Kudos, Teddy.As you were.

The funny part is that Uruguay looks capable of continuing to disrupt my December predictions all the way into the semis.
Also, I should get a plaque of some sort for being right on Italy.
