2013 Daily Super Bowl Hype Meme

Back by popular demand, it's the quasi-annual Gowanus Daily Super Bowl Hype Meme.  For those unfamiliar with this series of posts, it's pretty straightforward.  In 13 days, the nation will sit it rapt attention to watch 100 men in tights, pads and helmets beat the living crap out of each other for our amusement and enjoyment.  While this usually produces an entertaining 3 1/2 hours on Super Bowl Sunday, it's almost always preceded by 300+ hours of banality, with discussion of almost anything but the game itself.

We at the Gazette are here to keep that in check.  We'll take a meme a day, break it down, and rate it on a scale of 1 to 10.  A 1 would be a through analysis of whether the Ravens' blitzing schemes will render wunderkind Colin Kapernick more vulnerable to a pass rush and reduce his ability to gain yards on his feet; a 10 will be awarded to discussion of Ray Lewis' mink coats.  As usual, we doubt we'll be disappointed, so check back for daily updates.
