Breeders Cup Warmup: the 2000 and 2001 Classics

Some horses have a flair for the dramatic. Take Tiznow, the meteoric star of the early 2000s. A maiden in May 2000, he rose from the ranks of the winless to the 2000 Breeders Cup Classic, where he took on super-horse Fusaichi Pegasus, solid older horses Lemon Drop Kid and Cat Thief, and Europe's top 3 year old, Giant's Causeway, who was making his first start on dirt.

The following year--two months after 9/11--Tiznow came into New York for the Breeders Cup and took on that year's top 3 year olds, the Arc d'Triomphe winner Sakhee and the late blooming Aptitude.
